1/2 LB BACON (CUT INTO PIECES)
1 LB SMOKED SAUSAGE (SLICED)
1 LB CHICKEN BREAST (CUT INTO 1/2" CUBES)
2 GREEN BELL PEPPERS CHOPPED
2 MEDIUM ONIONS (CHOPPED)
1/2 CUP CELERY (SLICED)
1/2 CUP CARROT (SLICED THIN STRIPS)
1/2 CUP DICED GREEN ONION
4 CLOVES GARLIC (MINCED OR PRESSED)
2-28 OZ. TOMATO SAUCE OR PUREE
1-6 OZ. CAN TOMATO PASTE
1 QUART CHICKEN BROTH
1 TBSP. CHICKEN BOUILLION GRANULES
1 TSP. CHILI POWDER
1 TSP. THYME
1 TSP. OREGANO
1 TSP. BLACK PEPPER
1/2 TSP. CAYENNE
2 BAY LEAVES
1 1/2 CUPS UNCOOKED
RICE
1 CUP WATER
1 CUP SLICED OKRA
ADDED LATER: 1/2 CUP MINCED FRESH PARSLEY, 1
LB RAW SHRIMP (WITHOUT TAILS), AND HOTSAUCE TO TASTE

On May 18, 2017, as I reflected on my battle with cancer, I realized I hadn’t taught my daughters how to cook. Concerned that if the cancer returned, I wouldn’t leave them with essential kitchen skills, I decided to record my favorite recipes on video.
I jumped out of my recliner, filmed my first tutorial that day, and posted it on Facebook the next day. The overwhelming response led me to create a Facebook page, a website, and a YouTube channel.
