The HARQ is related to MAC/PHY layer while the RLC Retransmission is related to RLC Layer The HARQ Retransmissions usually are much quicker while the RLC retransmissions should take a longer time to get triggered. When Maximum HARQ retransmission count is reached, the connection is still retained, and UE remains connected. However, the eNB or gNB can reduce MCS to make the service more robust. On the other hand, when Maximum RLC Retransmission count is reached, the connection is dropped. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on Twitter - https://twitter.com/ourtechplanet Like Us on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ourtechplanet You can also visit us on our blog site - https://ourtechplanet.com/ in order to read our articles in detail and know more about who we are and what we do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5G Beam Sweeping & SSB Beams https://youtu.be/MAJSLFbpgv8 KPI Optimization For Dummies: Introducing the 5G & LTE KPI Optimization Matrix https://youtu.be/HrXZtXA-DJg 5G Massive MIMO Made Simple: Learn All About Massive MIMO & Beam-Forming In 30 minutes https://youtu.be/EDcfkegcIHs
