කොහොම වුනත් ltte ය සහ ipkf අතර මේ යුධ ගැටුමේදී මාලතී කියන්නේ වයස අවුරුදු 20ක් පමණ වන කාන්තාවක්. IPKF සමඟ ගැටුමක් ඇති වෙනවා යාල්ප්නම් හි කෝපායිහිදී. මාලතී 1987 ඔක්තෝබර් 10 වන දින යාල්ප්නම් හි කෝපායිහිදී සටන් වැදෙනවා ipkf සමග. ltte කොටි කාන්තාවක් වන ජනනි මෙම මාලතිගේ මරණය මෙසේ විස්තර කරනවා. “අපි (ඉන්දියානු) හමුදාවට වෙඩි තියන්න අපේ බංකර්වල හිටියා. ඉන්දියන් භටයෝ සිය ගණනක් අප දෙසට එද්දී ipkf සෙබළු වාහනවලින් පැන වෙඩි තබමින් සිටියා. මෝටාර් උණ්ඩ හැම තැනම පිපිරෙන්නට විය. හමුදාව වේගයෙන් ඉදිරියට යන බව අපි දැන සිටියෙමු. මාලතීගේ කකුල් දෙකටම වෙඩි වැදුණා. ඇයට චලනය වීමට නොහැකි වූ අතර ඇය අධික ලෙස ලේ ගලමින් සිටියාය. මාරාන්තික තුවාලයක් ඇති බව වටහාගත් ඇය සයනයිඩ් කෑවා.
