This bottle comes with an amusing (for us) but embarrassing (for Macallan) context, with this release forming part of the distillery's 'replica' series, which were launched to celebrate the discovery - and subsequent purchase - by Macallan of dozens of 'too good to be true' antique bottles of whisky from a private collection. Macallan were so keen for their customers to share in this excitement, four bottles were replicated in terms of presentation and liquid character. One small flaw however - the originals all turned out to be fake. Woops.
