It’s a good day when you get to see a “Superdog” Mack Superliner up close. It’s even sweeter when it’s got a customized Bentz sleeper!
I will say up front that I’m not a truck historian and I’ve only heard the story on this beautiful rig second-hand. The legend says, “This truck pulled a display trailer to truck shows all over America to showcase the custom sleepers the company sold.” Now, I’m friends of the owner’s family so I’ll see if I can get an interview to confirm this story and maybe shed more light on the Mack.
Until then, let’s just cruise around this cool piece of late 80’s/early 90’s machinery. I’m told it has the Mack engine for a power plant.
If I seem to geek out a little more about the sleeper, it’s because I’m such a Bentz sleeper fan. I had a very early Bentz made by Brighton Industries from a late 70’s International Harvester. I re-skinned it in polished stainless and mounted it to the Kenworth W900L I used to drive daily.
