Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this video, I’ll show you how to create the paper strips and sticks that I playfully refer to as “magic sticks” in my tutorials. These strips and sticks are essential tools in my newly developed technique. Previously, I used items like crochet hooks or knitting needles, but I found that making my own strips and sticks in the exact thickness I need allows for more flexibility when creating flowers of different sizes. In this video, you’ll learn how to make these custom tools, which will work perfectly for your own embroidery projects. Materials you’ll need: graph paper from a school notebook, clear packing tape, a glue stick, and scissors. First, I cut a rectangle from the graph paper, fold it into a strip, and press down on the creases. After opening the fold, I apply glue to the inside and refold it to secure the strip. To create a stick, I roll the paper around a long needle, unroll it, apply glue, and roll it back up to form a sturdy stick. Finally, I cover both the strip and stick with clear packing tape for durability. These handmade tools allow the thread to glide smoothly and make it easier to form neat, beautiful loops. This method is lightweight and practical compared to using bulky knitting needles or crochet hooks, which can add unnecessary weight, or items like wooden skewers, which can cause the thread to snag. By making your own strips and sticks, you’ll have better control and achieve cleaner results with your embroidery. I hope this video is helpful, especially for those who have struggled with this part of the process. If the video seems a bit long, feel free to use YouTube’s playback speed settings to watch it faster! My goal is to make this technique easy to follow, especially for beginners. Thank you for watching!
