Electabuzz's Journey to Beat Magmar After 25+ Years of Obscurity in VGC
Introduced as version exclusive Rival Pokemon in Red and Blue, Magmar and Electabuzz share a lot in common, but in competitive Pokemon VGC, Magmar was always a fan favorite. Getting 5th at Worlds 2013, Magmar has always been regarded as Electabuzz better, until the 2024 North American International Championship, where Electabuzz finally outshined Magmar with a deep run on an impressive team.
