Starting 1658, Maharana Raj Singh stopped paying jizya to Aurangzeb immediately after he came to power, reclaimed all Mewar outposts from the Mughals, rescued Charumati who was being forced to marry Aurangzeb, and got the murti of Shri Nath ji from Mathura placed in his own kingdom - now known as Nathdwara. Not known to people, he even arrested Aurangzeb twice.
