An expert on JFK’s 1963 assassination has told Sky News host Gabriella Power that the mainstream media has “a lot to lose” when the files are made public.
Co-author of The JFK Assassination Chokeholds: That Prove There Was a Conspiracy, James DiEugenio told Sky News the “main obstruction” between the American public and the “truth” about the JFK case has been the “mainstream media”.
The Warren Commission determined that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone to kill President Kennedy, but most American’s do not believe that theory.
President Trump ordered the declassification and release of secret files on the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK in January.
The head of a new task force aimed at exposing federal secrets, Anna Paulina Luna, said the single-bullet theory was “faulty” and believes there were “two shooters”.
Mr DiEugenio told Ms Power that Luna is “correct” as there is “all this evidence” that indicated there was “more than one assassin”.
Mr DiEugenio said the Warren Commission report was “faulty” because it relied on the work of the FBI which did not do a “thorough investigation”.
Last week the FBI discovered 2,400 new documents related to JFK's assassination.
“I think we are going to learn a lot more about Oswald and Oswald’s reported visit to Mexico City, which was about in late September, early October of 1963,” Mr DiEugenio said.
