This is a step-by-step how-to build of a one-of-a-kind maple landing net complete with a hand carved chinook salmon parr replica in the handle. The chinook salmon is an exact 1:1 scale carving of real fish caught during a trout fly fishing trip on the Yakima River in eastern Washington State. My Catch-2-Carve series takes me around my home state of Washington chasing a new species of fish in each installment, all with the fly rod in a beautiful setting. The result: a handmade, one-of-a-kind art piece to remember special times with friends, and along the way I'll share some tips and tricks to help you with creating your own carvings!
