In this video, I take you through the process of building a custom shoe cabinet from white oak, designed to fit perfectly in a small hallway. This cabinet has a unique design, with the bottom section shallower than the top to accommodate heating pipes.
I used a variety of joinery techniques for this build:
• For the main body, I relied on the Lamello system, especially the Clamex connectors, which allowed me to glue the pieces together with precision and plenty of clamping pressure.
• For the drawers, I added a touch of craftsmanship with hand-cut dovetails, giving them a classic, high quality finish.
• I also used the Festool Domino joiner for other structural connections, ensuring strength and durability.
This project was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to combine functionality with creativity. Join me as I share the process step by step, from planning to the final assembly. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoy woodworking content!
