Rob Appell demonstrates how to make a cool hand sewn potholder using 10 inch squares of precut fabric (layer cake). Rob used Wildflower Farm 10" Squares by Shannon Hays for Studio E. The special heat-blocking batting used in this project is a product called Insul-Bright.

Man Sewing is powered by Missouri Star Quilt Co. We share free instructional video tutorials every week to inspire you to create something cool. Our projects range from quilting and sewing to all sorts of textile crafts. Although we have a male host and a masculine name like Mansewing, our quilts, art projects, and and sewing machine tips are geared to everyone: men and women, kids and adults, and, of course, beginners and more advanced artists. Rob's patterns, t-shirts, tools, and notions (including the Shark Applicutter) can be found at missouriquiltco.com.
