Jim Hokanson of the Alamo Woodturners Association demonstrates his method for making a pen blank with a scalloped feature at one end. He shows his sled for making consistent cuts which are needed to keep the scallops aligned. He likes using vulcanized fiber as an accent to the scallop, but shows how the accent appears when using a thin maple veneer.
