I love Drawstring bags! Use them for groceries, gifts, toys, items in a suitcase. They're the best! Make your bag any size....but this "Fat Quarter Friendly" project uses up an entire FQ (Fat Quarter) of fabric!--every little bit of it! No waste! FABRIC REQUIREMENTS (1) Fat Quarter of fabric--that's it! 00:55 WHAT IS A FAT QUARTER? A "Fat Quarter", or "FQ", is a technical term used in the sewing world for a cut of fabric that is 18"x22" (50x55cm). This is the same AREA as a traditional "Quarter yard" which is 9"x44", just cut a little differently. Shops will sell fabric this way, often in an FQ bundle, for making quilts or other projects. This chunkier cut of fabric is helpful when you only need a small amount of a fabric, but you need something wider than 9 inches. Perfect for a cute little bag! 1:57 CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS • Cut the selvage from your FQ • Turn the fabric lengthwise, and cut (4) strips 1.5" x 22" (5x55cm) • You're left with a piece that is 12"x22" (30x55cm) --this is the body of the bag. 5:05 USING A "DIRECTIONAL" PRINTED FABRIC 8:42 BOXING OUT THE BAG MY OTHER RELATED VIDEOS •HOW TO MAKE A DRAWSTRING BAG--ANY SIZE: https://youtu.be/F1s2KvlIDVw •HOW TO MAKE A DRAWSTRING BACKPACK: https://youtu.be/GIfEFa7NBfo •HOW TO USE A SEWING MACHINE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRE4TABLswU •HOW TO MAKE A TOTEBAG: https://youtu.be/-OCRclg0hpU •HOW TO MAKE A ZIPPER POUCH: https://youtu.be/i1AsfZRYlRM •DIY REVERSIBLE BAG + FREE PATTERN: https://youtu.be/vEJyKZZFhsc MY FABRICS: These bags were made with a few of my fabric collections, designed for Art Gallery Fabrics and FIGO Fabrics: You can find my fabrics in online shops by searching "Dana Willard Fabric" or look on etsy.com, amazon, etc. See more info on my site: https://www.madeeveryday.com/fabric-collections-by-dana-willard/ TAG YOUR PICS ONLINE and share with me! #madeeverydaypatterns @made_everyday SEWING MACHINE RECOMMENDS: My current sewing machine is a Baby Lock BRILLIANT.
