In this video I take you through the first steps of hand-binding a book. I begin by tearing down large sheets of paper, then folding them into signatures, piercing sewing holes, cutting the linen tapes, waxing the thread, and finally sewing the book block.
Subsequent videos will detail gluing the book block, backing, trimming and rounding, and casing in. Thank you for watching!
