In this week's tutorial video, I show you how I make a leather doctoring bag for a saddle. This is not a project that I make many of and so I take you through my pattern making process and how I go about designing one of these useful tools for any cowboy.
This is a quick tutorial and so the footage is in hyper speed in order to keep the video short and easy to consume. There are many ways to make or design these bags and almost every cowboy is different as to the way they want theirs to function and where it will hang on their saddle. This one is a front style bag and it slips over the horn and lashes down to the front rigging dee to keep it secure and out of the way.
I have made the patterns I created in this video available for purchase on our website. Just use the link below if you would like to purchase these and make one for yourself or for a customer. All of our patterns are INSTANT DOWNLOADS in PDF format so you can download them and print them immediately after checkout.
