Farrier chaps are similar to any chaps worn by horse people but somewhat shorter and reinforced with extra layers of leather over the thighs where the horse's hoof rests while being trimmed and shod.
These ones are most definitely decorated in a more traditional cowboy style with tooled leather waist and leg reinforcement and and a bit of fringe up the sides of the legs.
They have a wide padded back belt to add support to the lower back...my farrier considers it a great feature.
