Making a rustic stool DIY
How to make a small rustic wooden stool
In this woodworking video I build a small rustic stool from Pine and Fir (legs). Make the legs round. Use a Veritas 1 inch powered tenon cutter to make 1 inch round Tenons that will fit in thru Mortises, I distress and stain to create the rustic distressed old barn wood look.
I use a wire cup wheel on a grinder to remove the soft wood fibres and finish with a few coats of stain. These wheels are the key to creating the rough texture, for that old barn board look! That and a bit of elbow grease. Cheers!
