A DIY project to make a toolbox with a trimmer/ compact router. Rabbets and Grooves are used for this box making. Rabbets are the simplest joints, but they have a number of advantages. It will be easier to assemble and the accuracy of the box will increase. Grooves are used to attach the divider and bottom.
It is easy to assemble a box with screws, but tearout is likely to occur near the end of the wood. And I didn't want to show any screws for these boxes. Normally, assembling a box requires a lot of clamps, but this can also be difficult with casual DIYers. So I used a Neji de Clamp made of plywood and screws. Finally a wooden pins are driven into the screw holes to give a classic look.
The material is dimensioned cedar wood obtained at a local hardware store. As you know it has some warpage. I explained how to manage this problem and cut the joints. Also, since the tool boxes are stackable, some accuracy is required between the boxes. I will share how to glue the box up square and how to smooth the corner misalignment.
Packed with the joy and basics of box making. And you can see the possibility of compact router/ trimmer. Some joints were done on the compact router table. You can cut all the joints by handheld router, but if you have a router table, the accuracy and speed will increase.
