Hey everyone!
I just finished the repair on the saw featured in my previous diagnoses video (https://youtu.be/Idv7hNN3cy0) which showed a blown / scored piston & cylinder on the Stihl 026.
This saw belongs to a friend of mine. As we all get older, small engine equipment becomes harder to start. I wanted to save this Stihl 026 for him, and at the same time, take advantage of a feature that it lacked: a decompression valve. This will lower the compression and make it easier to pull and start.
Watch as I remove the cylinder and piston, and replace the Stihl 026 original equipment with a newer piston and cylinder from a Stihl MS260.
I picked these parts up from my good friend Don AKA Donyboy73 AKA Don the Small Engine Doctor (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6MEb54vwjicHs7L39sS4hA)
I go over the whole disassembly and reassembly process step by step, explaining each move as I go.
The end result turned out just as I had hoped!
Cheers,
-Dave
