Making & Canning Homemade Marinara Sauce
This sauce takes a little time and work, but the results are well worth it! Tastes as fresh and bright as your summer garden in the middle of July! Use it on spaghetti or any other pasta, but don't stop there! Use it on chicken, eggs,, pork or as a dipping sauce too!
Here's what you'll need for 4 qts or 8 pints-
15-16 lbs tomatoes
1 large onion, chopped
4 large cloves of garlic, diced
2 tbls olive oil
3 tbls brown sugar
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tblsp fresh oregano
1 tsp fresh rosemary
1/2 tsp fresh thyme
Lemon juice
*If using dried herbs reduce measurements by half
