I am making furniture out of broken glass and epoxy resin. Recycling glass into furniture is something I am interested in for 2 reasons. 1. It can serve as an aggregate to reduce the amount of epoxy needed to make translucent pieces. 2. I sometimes break glass for some of my concrete molds and this gives me a way to recycle that waste. A bonus is that the glass acts as sort of a heat sink and I can pour the epoxy resin deeper without fear of it overheating. This table looks like it was made out of translucent concrete and weighs about 45 lbs. I saved all the broken glass I created from other mold making projects and used it as a glass aggregate for casting this piece of epoxy furniture. I made a positive prototype out of MDF that I used to make a negative silicone mold. I used total boat deep set fathom epoxy resin and it came out great.
