Happy Malaysia Day season everyone! What’s more Malaysian than our very own fav street food, Char Kway Teow. It’s a dish with flat rice noodles, shrimp, eggs, bean sprouts, and chives, all stir-fry in a flavorful sauce made from soy sauce, chili, and depending on preference, a bit of belacan (shrimp paste). What makes a Char Kway Teow more oomph is definitely the “wok hei” or to translate it, the breath of wok; the taste that is imparted by cooking on a wok with high heat.
