In this episode of #ROADSHOW24, we head out West to join our friend Curt Johnson of 307 Fowl Play Outfitters for a magical mallard hunt on a narrow stream we had never hunted before! With snow falling early and stunning Western scenery all around, we set up with 2 dozen F1FF (Fully Flocked) Mallards and a pair of F1 Canada Floaters, targeting singles and pairs of greenheads while steering clear of the massive groups trading between the stream and nearby cornfields. Hidden just a few yards from the decoys on the edge of the stream, we worked the birds with timely calling as they finished perfectly over the spread. Despite rising temperatures melting the snow by the end of the hunt, we wrapped up with 25 greenheads, making for an unforgettable day in this special place.
