In this episode I'm fishing with a good mate Mitchell Annis-Brown on the Gold Coast using live baits to chase an aggressive lutjanid species the mangrove jack. I've dedicated a lot of time over the years targeting them with lures but only on a few occasions have I fished baits for them. Fishing live baits un-weighted pitched into structure at night is an easy way to entice an eat out of these prized sport fish. The biggest trick to this task is filling the live well with live baits caught cast netting before you even think about making a cast. The enormous amount of structure available to anglers across the Gold Coast is ridiculous and would take a lifetime to fish every piece of it. After not doing this style of fishing for a hell of a long time is good to see some success on our first outing of the summer.
