The traditional "Helenenkirchtag in Thurn East Tyrol" was unfortunately overshadowed by Corona again this year, but the marching band of Thurn didn't miss the opportunity to bring music to the village anyway. 17 July 2021 was all about "If you can't come to us, we'll come to you." 🥁
With a total of 5 stations ("Unterniggler", "Moar", "Zauche", "Weberplatzl" and "Zentrale"), the march through Thurn was celebrated together with the village population. For all the joy, however, the 3G rule was not disregarded. Not only the musicians were vaccinated, tested or recovered, but also all participating visitors.
Brass music in the East Tyrolean municipality of Thurn with its own music band is still almost in its infancy. The band was founded in 2000 and has since been one of 303 bands in the Tyrolean Brass Music Association. Nevertheless, the great marching music under the direction of conductor Andreas Großlercher and bandleader Lisa Steiger is a feast for the eyes and ears of all listeners. The organisational management of the band is the responsibility of Johannes Nemmert.
