PULLING POWER – THE ART OF PELLET FISHING WITH MARK BARTLETT
We are now at the time of year when high-nutritional baits will out-score practically any method when it comes to the pursuit of carp, so there is little wonder therefore why so many anglers are now turning to the pulling power of pellets for the autumn.
One such person is Mark Bartlett, undoubtedly one of the finest anglers in the country as well as a fishery owner, who has experienced first- hand what a positive impact pellets have on the health, well-being and development of carp. It’s for this reason why he is using pellets more and more in his fishing these days, especially from late summer onwards.
In this film, we join Bart on his famous syndicate water, The Carp Society-run Farriers Lake in the Cotswolds, as he details his approach to pellet fishing. Bart explains the reasons why he uses pellets, how he uses them and the baits and presentations he adopts to fish over them.
To help prove what a deadly method pellet fishing can be, Bart’s net is graced by a very special Farriers carp.

🍂 WHY PELLETS ARE PERFECT FOR AUTUMN!
In most cases, pellets are high in protein, crucial for the growth and development of carp. The protein is often sourced from fishmeal, which provides the necessary amino acids for carp to build body tissues ahead of the colder months.
They are also a great source of carbohydrates that provide energy, enabling carp to engage in their daily activities and maintain proper bodily functions, while the oils and fats present in pellets will provide a concentrated source of energy and help promote healthy metabolism.
Pellets are also often fortified with essential vitamins and minerals to ensure that carp receive a well-rounded nutritional profile. These include vitamins A, D, E, and various B vitamins, as well as minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, and zinc.
As is the case for all DNA pellets, the use of attractants and flavours, such as our much-loved crayfish flavour, help enhance their appeal. These additives are designed to stimulate carp's senses and trigger feeding responses.
The DNA range features a wide range of pellets, including the mixed-sized Crayfish Mini Mix and Crayfish Maxi Mix, the 4mm Bug, Secret 7, SLK and Switch pellets that complement our boilie range, and three different sizes of Betastim-infused pellets.
