Marsh - The Cove, Anjunadeep Explorations 2024 (D&B Set)
I grew up listening to a mix of genres but gravitated towards electronic dance music and it was always trance and drum & bass that were on repeat. In particular, Pendulum’s ‘Hold Your Colour’ was formational for my love for dance music and still influences my sound today.
This mix is two hours of many of my favourite drum & bass records that I grew up to, ranging from the more melodic, liquid tracks to the real high energy bangers towards the end.
I played this set in Albania at Anjunadeep’s ‘Explorations’ festival. The setting was on a pebbly beach - probs not ideal for dancing on, comment below what that experience was like haha - but it was certainly beautiful. It was the last set there of the night and the crowd was so energetic and open to letting their hair down and going full send.
I think what has been so special for the connection I have with a lot of you guys is that we all grew up listening to the same names in trance and even drum & bass so I feel like the connection runs deep!
If you’re someone that says d&b isn’t your thing, I’d encourage you to have a go with this. So many of these records influenced the sound I make today, a lot of the same emotions are found in the music, just at higher tempos.
