Match Vlog- Stafford Rangers 1-0 Witton Albion! *Another 3 points!
The impressive form for Stafford Rangers continues as we put another three points in the bag with a victory at home to Witton Albion in a bottom-half of the table clash.
There was not much creativity throughout the game both teams being hard to break down with many fouls and tackles going in. Stafford took the lead in the 20th minute with a cracking finish through James McQuilkin from 20 yards out. He could have scored a goal in a similar position prior to his first. We had at least 3 chances first half and Witton got in many good areas.
It was the same as the second half for us another three good chances which included hitting the bar and Witton had the same amount of chances at the other end.
One bit of extra quality from Macca sealed a well earned and hard thought win for Stafford Rangers in an equally thought game. Neither team were better than the other on the day and we were holding on a bit towards the end but often goes either way in these type of games. Big shoutout to goalkeeper Leon Phillips on loan from Tamworth I thought he played well caught the ball on many good occasions even if he looks shaky at times. Also, to the Witton Albion fans who were brilliant yesterday one of the best supporters at our place this season by a mile.
Our current form now sees us with 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in 8 games which is very good to see. In just 4 weeks Kitch has turned our fortunes around and the fight to stay up continues, four points clear of the relegation zone is much better let’s keep on going. We turn to a tough away trip at 2nd place Vauxhall Motors next week you never know in these games see you all there. UTB 🖤🤍
