Well, as promised, here's a 1990 episode of Mathnet.
In this episode, Eve Adams, Kate's old college friend, drops by to give Kate and George "Annie Oakleys" (slang for free tickets) to a Broadway show she is to perform in (as the second lead): Anything Went, starring Lauren Bacchanal (nicknamed "The Iron Stage Mother", who is widely panned by critics after many years of performing). After Eve's performance receives extraordinary reviews at Sardi's, compared to Bacchanal's performance, the next day, Anything Went is going to be closed, because Bacchanal is missing. As a result, Eve, who is Bacchanal's understudy, takes over the lead role and receives more good reviews than before, but the Mathnetters soon find out that Bacchanal was kidnapped, and with all evidence pointing to Eve as the kidnapper, Captain Greco is left with no choice but to arrest her.
The next day, while Eve is in jail, George deciphers a coded message he and Kate got the day before to pinpoint the missing actress' location. It leads to an old domicile called Bleakhouse in Nyack, NY. They pick up Captain Greco and Benny and arrive at Bleakhouse, where they find Lauren Bacchanal (seemingly) tied up. Bacchanal explains that Eve and two men were the ones who kidnapped her.
The Mathnetters arrive at the lockup, where Eve is held. She explains that she is innocent, despite too much evidence against her. She also explains that she had never even been to, nor even heard of Nyack. Suddenly, she remembers that she was doing a matinee performance of Anything Went Wednesday afternoon, the exact time when Bacchanal claimed that she was kidnapped.
