The May-Cad uses a method to hackle with marabou, the softest of all the fly tying feathers. Grizzly Marabou has nice mottling and good action creating a very effective fly with a lot of movement in the water. The slim abdomen created with wire cuts through the water and sinks fast while creating the impression of body segmentation. The dyed Wooduck Mallard flank has good mottling imitating antennae and tail with segmentation. The sparkle dubbing thorax reflects light and gets attention from trout. This fly is a good prospect nymphing pattern for many waters types. Tie some. Try different colors too like yellow, green, blue and red. Fish them and let me know how you like it. This fly will give you new wet fly tying skills and a unique fly that fish haven’t seen before.
