When do your replace your motorcycle's brake disc (rotor)? The Urban Monk demonstrates how to measure the thickness of your motorcycle brake disc and determine whether you need to simply replace the brake pads or if you should replace both the pads and the disc. Ignoring this critical specification can, over time, lead to a catastrophic brake failure. But measuring the thickness of your rotor is simple, quick, and the tool is inexpensive. The Urban Monk shows how to use a micrometer measuring device and illustrates why it is not a good idea to use a simple slide caliper measuring tool. This can be done on any motorcycle with disc brakes, whether it is a brand new high performance race bike, a ten year old cruiser, or an old vintage motorcycle from the 60s or 70s.
