Ignoring this critical specification can, over time, lead to a catastrophic brake failure. But measuring the thickness of your rotor is simple, quick, and the tool is inexpensive. The Urban Monk shows how to use a micrometer measuring device and illustrates why it is not a good idea to use a simple slide caliper measuring tool. This can be done on any motorcycle with disc brakes, whether it is a brand new high performance race bike, a ten year old cruiser, or an old vintage motorcycle from the 60s or 70s.
