We are grateful we had the opportunity to meet and film a trim with 87-year old Ms. Lee. She is South Korea’s first ever licensed lady barber, and she loves to cut hair!

Born in 1936, there have been many losses and tragedies throughout Ms. Lee’s life.
At the age of 19, she began cutting hair and giving shaves. Ms. Lee worked so she could earn money to help provide for her younger siblings. She learned in her dad's barbershop where he kept an eye out for her well-being.
In 1958, Lee Duk-hoon became the first licensed female barber in South Korea.
Her humble barbershop called Sae Eeyongwon - "New Barbershop” ( 성북동 새이용원 ) has been serving the local community for almost 50 years. At 87 years old, Ms. Lee continues taking care of her loyal customers 💈❤️
