An interview with a female sentinel guard, a lookout keeping a constant watch at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In September 2015 Sgt. Hanks became only the fourth female to earn the Tomb Guard Identification Badge #643. Coming from a military family calling Waco TX her Home. Sgt. Hanks was an MP serving in Afghanistan before applying for a transfer to the 3rd U.S. Infantry, traditionally known as "The Old Guard," Fort Myer, VA. It is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army, serving our nation since 1784. Tomb Guard sentinels are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in any type of weather.
