In this video, Rich applies some advanced techniques for fine tuning the pitch detection of Melodyne. First, he shows how to make sure that sibilant information is properly displayed by accessing Note Assignment Mode. He then illustrates how to add separations in notes to give a better tonal center to each individual note. He goes on to show how Note Assignment Mode can use the potential/actual note separation slider for guidance on where to separate, and how to use the command ‘Reseparate Notes at Starting Point Lines’ to add in all the additional desired separations at once. He quickly explains an additional feature of Note Assignment Mode which allows you to hear the original, unaltered audio at any time. Next, Rich demonstrates how to use the Note Separation tool to fine tune the separations, and the Transition tool to smooth any changes. Finally, he displays the ‘Separate Notes as Trills’ function, and how to use and set quick keys for fast and easy work.
