Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects in Mengujuma Village
Mengujuma Village, Kohima District – February 15, 2025 – Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated multiple infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and rural development in Mengujuma Village.

Mengujuma village Council Hall
Mengujuma Village Gate at Kithougei
Phepfhünie Tsiese at Kithougei
Agri Link Road Bypass via Tsiesema at Zahigri (Under MGNREGA)
Key Highlights from CM Neiphiu Rio’s Address
1. Economic Self-Sufficiency & Skill Development
Encouraged Naga youth to acquire technical skills and seek employment within the state.
Stressed the need to reduce reliance on migrant workers by engaging in various skilled jobs.
2. Industrial Growth & Business Development
Expressed concern over underutilization of industrial infrastructure, including:
Integrated Industrial Development Centre (IIDC), Kiruphema
Industrial Growth Centre, Dimapur
Highlighted that Nagaland remains a consumer state, urging entrepreneurial initiatives to strengthen local production.
Assured government support through loans and funding via the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN).
3. Indigenous Rights & Regulation
Reaffirmed commitment to Inner Line Permit (ILP) enforcement.
Stressed the importance of Registration of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) to protect Naga identity and rights.
4. Healthcare & Government Schemes
Urged citizens to register for the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), which provides:
Cashless medical treatment for government employees, pensioners, and indigenous inhabitants.
Access to 65 empanelled hospitals in Nagaland and 64 outside the state.
Ensured that healthcare-related issues are being actively addressed.
5. Infrastructure & Land Compensation
Highlighted how road and railway projects have benefited people through land compensation.
Assured continued efforts for road connectivity and transportation improvements.
6. Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) & Water Supply
Mentioned that 92% of rural households now have tap water connections under JJM.
Warned against premature completion certificates, ensuring proper execution of projects.
