Here, we cover everything Born Like This from the creation process to the artwork and music featured, to the lore and history surrounding its making, and an analysis of what the record meant for Daniel Dumile and his character, MF DOOM. Aside from discussing the record itself, my goal was to expand on the knowledge we have, filling in gaps with supplemental insights to create a clearer picture of this period in MF DOOM's career while also weaving in some of my personal thoughts, brief synopses of certain songs on the album, and any other pertinent reflections.
If I had to put it concisely, I’d say this video is an overview of Born Like This. By the end of the creation process for this video, I felt the flow wasn’t very cohesive, not unlike the scattered quality of the record. In terms of pacing and structure, it’s not my favorite work I’ve done, but I had a lot of fun writing and putting it all together, even if the pacing didn’t come out exactly how I had envisioned.
