The MG4 has been around for a while now, but recently MG announced some serious price cuts that make the MG4 Excite 51 one of the cheapest EVs you can get in Australia.
However, a lot of reviews suggest it's not enough EV, advising you to buy the MG4 Excite 64 instead. So what actually happens when you go on a really long drive in an EV with a comparatively small battery? There was only one way to find out...
Update: I originally had my figures wrong (and I own my mistakes) -- the MG4 Excite 51 is low cost by EV standards, but right now the GWM Ora and BYD Dolphin base level models are marginally cheaper -- but it's a fluid market, and there's often deals to be had.
