Off the Wall (1979) Thriller (1982) Bad (1987) These albums are known as monumental milestones in music history, propelling Michael's solo career to new heights. In particular, Thriller has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the best-selling album of all time. Quincy Jones' background and his encounter with Michael Before teaming up with Michael, Quincy Jones was widely known as a jazz master, film music composer, and pop music producer. He began his career as a jazz trumpeter, and later achieved success as an arranger and producer. His versatile musical background played a major role in his collaboration with Michael. The two first met on the set of the 1978 film The Wiz. The film was a musical reinterpretation of The Wizard of Oz with an African-American cast, in which Michael played the role of the Scarecrow and Quincy served as musical director. This encounter led to the two finding musical resonance, and Michael appointed Quincy to produce his next solo album. 1. Off the Wall (1979) — A breakthrough as a solo artist After his success with the Jackson 5, Michael took on a new stage as a solo artist. With a sound that combined R&B, disco, and funk, he transformed and deepened from a teen idol into a mature artist. Quincy's sophisticated production took Michael's music to a new level and revolutionized dance music. 2. Thriller (1982) — Reigning at the pinnacle of pop Thriller transcends musical boundaries by fusing pop, rock, and R&B. Innovative music videos like "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Beat It" ushered in the era of MTV. His first performance of the moonwalk in "Billie Jean" shocked the world and became his signature move. Michael's style, with his red leather jacket, white gloves, and black fedora, created a huge boom and established him as a fashion icon. 3. Bad (1987) — Further Challenges and Evolution In Bad, Michael pursued a more aggressive and edgy sound, and he himself was involved in the production of many of the songs. This work strongly reflects his creative vision. It was the first time that a single album produced five No. 1 singles in the US, setting a new milestone in music history. The Bad World Tour achieved a world record number of attendees at the time, establishing the legend of Michael's live performances. Michael and Quincy break up After Bad, Michael and Quincy went their separate ways. For his next album, Dangerous (1991), Michael teamed up with New Jack Swing pioneer Teddy Riley to continue his musical endeavors. What the Michael and Quincy Trilogy brought Through musical diversity and experimentation across genres, he established new standards in pop music. His dance style, including the moonwalk, went beyond the boundaries of musical performance and reached the level of art. He used music to convey messages about social issues, such as "Beat It" and "Man in the Mirror." The collaboration between Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones is an immortal milestone in music history. Their work has been loved by many people throughout the ages and continues to have a major impact on the music industry.
