Here is another table top miniature moss garden design set up with a wick so that the moss always stays watered.
I have wanted to make a sort of “island“ design for quite some time. I considered using actual water and having the wick pull from that but realized it would evaporate much too quickly. So I decided to go with the zen style pebble garden to represent the water.
I feel like the pebbles I chose are a bit too large and throw off the scale a bit but they were the best I could get from a river close to me. I think I might change to sand from the river but I will have to go collect it. I had the pebbles from another project.
The piece of wood, if you are interested, is from a dead Rose Mary bush that we found while on a hike in the mountains in Spain. My wife uses a lot of natural material in her art as well and so we are both alway looking out for interesting things in nature. (Check her out @irene_bittner )
The wicks are made from felt strips and the box is made from pine. If you have any questions just ask. 🙂
