I was out for a night in West Scotland during a cold snap with a old minimal set up.. made a wee raised spruce bed and spruce shelter wrapped in two army ponchos buttoned together, as its West Scotland and tends to rain out the blue regardless of the temprature or forecast)
My sleep system is 3 wool blankets and a handmade traditional Haida jumper with a long wax jacket ontop.. I had a sound sleep with that (a hipflask of whisky is a vital part of the sleep system)
I grew up in this part of Scotland, and it's always amazing in that kind of temprature.. a well needed reduction in the perpetual ambiant dampness that holds this part of the world, especially during the darker months
