Exiled from South Africa, her concerts and contracts cancelled in the USA due to her marriage to Stokely Carmichael, Pres. Sekou Toure of Guinea invited Miriam to visit Guinea, and a year later she returned to live. Sekou Toure gave her a villa, in Dalaba, which she visits in this documentary, and she had her own group, The Quintette Guineenne, which featured some of the nation's best musicians. She recorded extensively for Guinea's recording label, Syliphone, and lived in Guinea from 1968 to 1986.
