Studd was particularly focused on helping children, and he established a school for African children that provided both academic education and practical skills training.

He was known for his passionate speeches, in which he urged others to give up their own comforts and dedicate themselves to serving God. One of his most famous quotes is: "If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him."
