This is me mixing and mastering a beat I just made in FL Studio from scratch. I always make my beats with the soft clipper on the master. I usually mix my beats while making them, but when I don’t, this is my process. I start by leveling the drum sounds (tip: pick good-quality drum sounds) and cleaning some sounds up with EQ if needed. Then, I level the melody, add some FX, and clean it up with EQ. After that, I level and mix the remaining sounds. For mastering, I usually just add Ozone 8 and a preset I like. I don’t really know what I’m doing—these are just things I’ve picked up over the years. It’s mainly about listening to what sounds good to my ears and makes sense to me. One thing that has improved my mixes the most is listening to songs and beats with great mixes on the same headphones I use to make beats. This helps me understand what a good mix should sound like. Hope this helps!
