WHO IS CHRIS SHARPE:
In our very first episode, we're joined by Chris Sharpe, the Head of Goalkeeping at the Colorado Rapids. Chris has been an integral part of the Rapids organization since 2008, serving first as the Head of Academy Goalkeeping, and later taking over as the First Team Goalkeeper Coach in 2013—both positions which he still holds today.
On the international stage, Chris has contributed to the U.S. Soccer Federation’s youth national teams, working with the U-17 and U-20 men’s squads during key development windows and international tournaments. His experience developing talent at both the club and international levels makes him one of the most respected goalkeeper coaches in North America.
Over the years, Chris has played a pivotal role in the growth of several high-level goalkeepers. He’s been instrumental in the development of U.S. international Zack Steffen, helped guide Tim Howard during his time with the Rapids, and mentored William Yarbrough, a regular MLS starter and former Liga MX champion. His work with younger prospects in the Rapids Academy has also led to multiple professional signings and national team call-ups!
