At long last, I finally decided to visit the absolutely incredible Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show in Springfield, MA, where I witnessed the greatest display of model trains in the world. Here, tens of thousands of visitors make the pilgrimage to the Big E Convention Center to buy, sell, and run hundreds of thousands of model trains, in addition to other railroad memorabilia and merch. I stayed for two days at the event, and saved my second day for buying and the first day for filming, as I barely managed to film all of the layouts in all four buildings for my 6 hour visit on Saturday.
This video, despite its long length, is only part 1 of 2, in which it covers the layouts in the Better Living Center, Stroh Building, and Young Building, as the Mallary Complex, the largest building of the show, will be getting a video of its own. Apologies if the camera is a bit shaky or out of focus at times, as I was trying to capture as many layouts as I could while moving around a large crowd that was blocking either my walkway or my shot of the trains.
