کابل مدرن در دوران قدیم
شهر کابل روزگاری قلب تپنده خاور زمین و عروس شهرهای آسیا بود، آن روزها شکوه و جلال این شهر مدرن و تاریخی زبان زد خاص و عام شده بود.
چرخ روزگار مردم به راحتی می‌چرخید و کسی نگران فردا خود نبود.
آن روزها موهای در باد رها شده، پاهای برهنه و صدای خنده‌های دختران کابل، ایمان مردان را سُست نمی‌کرد و هیچ کسی بخاطر جنسیت و افکار خویش از تحصیل و کار محروم نمی‌شدند.
روزگار شیرینی بود زنان و دختران کابل بدون ترس از شلاق خوردن و سنگسار شدن با دامن‌های کوتاه و گیسوهای رها شده در شهر ظاهر می‌شدند.
دروازه‌های مکاتب و دانشگاه‌ها به روی همه باز بودند و جوانان برای رشد و ترقی کشور دست و آستین بالا زده بودند.
نام و آوازه دانشگاه‌های کابل، در خارج از مرزهای کشور نیز بر سر زبان‌ها پیچیده بودند و دانشجویان زیادی از کشورهای دیگر به امید راه یافتن در دانشگاه‌های کابل درخواست می‌دادند.
روزگاری که در شهرهای کشورهای همسایه هنوز از حیوانات برای حمل و نقل استفاده می‌شد، کابل با بس و سرویس‌های برقی مجهز شده بود و روزانه صدها نفر را از یک گوشه به گوشه دیگر شهر انتقال می‌دادند.
از آن روزهای شیرین اکنون تنها چند قطعه عکس سیاه و سفید باقی مانده است و قصه‌های شنیدنی که ریش سفیدان با آه و حسرت آنها را بازگو می‌کنند.
گردشگران غربی برای بازدید از افغانستان کیلومترها را می‌پیمودند و بدون هراس به کابل و شهرهای دیگر سفر می‌کردند و در گوشه و کنار کشور عکس‌های یادگاری می‌گرفتند.
Modern Kabul in the Old Days
Once upon a time, Kabul was the beating heart of the East and the bride of Asian cities. In those days, the grandeur and splendor of this modern and historic city were renowned far and wide.
Life moved smoothly, and no one worried about tomorrow. Back then, flowing hair in the wind, bare feet, and the laughter of Kabul’s girls did not shake a man's faith. No one was deprived of education or work because of their gender or beliefs.
It was a sweet time—women and girls in Kabul walked the streets without fear of being whipped or stoned, wearing short skirts and letting their hair flow freely. Schools and universities welcomed everyone, and young people rolled up their sleeves for the progress and development of their country.
The reputation of Kabul’s universities extended beyond the country’s borders, attracting students from around the world eager to secure a place in these prestigious institutions.
While neighboring countries still relied on animals for transportation, Kabul had electric buses and trolleys that carried hundreds of people across the city daily.
Now, all that remains of those sweet days are a few black-and-white photographs and the nostalgic tales told by elders with sighs of longing.
Western tourists once traveled miles to visit Afghanistan, wandering freely through Kabul and other cities, capturing memories in photographs.
