While the river was high due to a lot of recent rainfall, I installed some upgrades on my Mokai. I will be running in cold weather, so I added a windshield. I also added a Wilderness Systems console. Since the pump continued to turn, even when the engine was in idle, I added a clutch to allow the pump to stop turning while idling, which is a huge improvement for tight streams, creeks, and loading the Mokai onto the trailer. I wanted a better feel for operating the throttle and steering nozzle, so I replaced the electronic controls with a cable control system. I replaced the muffler and added a cover over the muffler, which made it a little quieter and allows the engine to run a little cooler. I replaced the plastic wear ring for the pump with an aluminum ring. Finally, I added a metal plate under the pump to protect it and changed the plastic steering nozzle out for an aluminum nozzle. All of these items, except for the console, were developed for the Mokai by Tom of Painless Enterprises.
