Occasionally, I am asked if I would like to have an ol’ film camera. Free! Just take it. And, it happened recently when attending a ‘Yavapai Digital Arts and Photography Club’ meeting in Prescott. During the meeting, a member stood and expressed for a friend how she wanted to find a new home for this camera, a RolleiCord V she held in her hands. At first my mind was weighting how much she would be asking for it and so I got the information who to call and the next morning I did. She just wanted to find a new home for it and it was mine for the taking. A gift.
And so, in this episode, I talk a bit about this Rolleicord V, a medium-format twin lens reflex camera manufactured by ‘Franke & Heidecke’ in Germany, between October of 1954 and March of 1957. It was the simpler, less expensive version of the high-end Rolleiflex TLR and marketed for the amateur photographers. In addition, I will show you my first time loading the camera with film and share the photographs of my first roll of film.
