LIVING IN A KOMBI MOTORHOME IN PUNTA DEL ESTURIA URUGUAY
We are traveling in a Kombi through Uruguay and showing our entire routine and life on the road. This is the 4th episode of this adventure and we will share it here on our YouTube channel!

We are driving along Uruguay's Route 9, which runs along the country's coast between major cities such as Punta Del Este and Montevideo.

We stopped at the José Ignacio beach resort in Uruguay, which is one of the few destinations in the world where rushing and hustle and bustle are not part of its vocabulary. Located about 35 km from Punta del Este and 160 km from the capital Montevideo, we visited the José Ignacio lighthouse, which is located between two rocky beaches: Playa Mansa and Playa Brava. As its name suggests, Playa Mansa has a more family-friendly, peaceful atmosphere and is a great alternative for those who want to relax. As for Brava beach, it has a rougher sea, with giant waves, and is great for those who like surfing. Located in the center of the beach, the José Ignacio lighthouse is the city's postcard. It was built in 1887 and is 26m high and is open to visitors. There are 121 steps that provide a 360º view of the beaches and surroundings.
We continued driving to the next city, Punta Del Leste. The name means “Eastern Point” and describes the exact location of the place: on the eastern tip of Uruguay. The tip of the peninsula marks the division between the Atlantic Ocean (the open sea) and the Río de la Plata (the bay). Contrary to legend, it is not only the rich who go to Punta. The public is quite eclectic. The bulk of the population during the season is made up of solid middle-class families who go on vacation, in their own or rented apartments, shopping at the supermarket and taking a cooler to the beach. Another important crowd during the season, and one that helps define Punta's personality, is the party crowd. Punta del Este in the summer is a party that starts at dusk on the beach and continues into the early hours of the morning in the clubs. We visited the city's postcard of Punta del Este, the famous monument La Mano, also known as Los Dedos, a concrete and plastic sculpture in Punta del Este, Uruguay. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the country and a symbol of the city, created by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal in 1982.
We continued driving through Punta del Leste, visiting the old part where the city began at the Punta del Este Lighthouse, or Faro del Punta del Este, a reminder of simpler times. It was built in 1860 almost at the tip of the peninsula, when there were none of those mansions there. But it is a very beautiful building, with a base made of exposed brick and 25 meters high. It is possible to climb to the top on the first and last weekends of the month, from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. The lighthouse is surrounded by lawns, where there is also a small square with playgrounds for children. Across the street is the Paroquia de La Candelaria, a small and cozy blue church. This area is also very beautiful: it is a residential neighborhood, with stylish mansions with large gardens and flowering trees.

We continued driving to Punta Ballenas, a quieter area where you can park your motorhome for the night. We parked the Kombi next to Casa Pueblo, a famous museum that is very popular for its beautiful sunsets. We watched the beautiful sunset at Punta Ballenas, a moment of peace and gratitude to God for life and all the opportunities He gives us.
